Growing Up & Facts of Life
It's time for bed, but the little Mouse Baby has no intentions of calling it a night. He hides in the garden, hides in the kitchen, hides his little whiskers anywhere he can. Anything to keep from going to bed. But daddy is right behind him --"Mousebaby mousebaby, where can you be?"-- trying to get this little scamp all tucked in and ready to sleep.. Who will win at this adorable game of hide and squeak? Only time will tail...tell.

This is one of those books that you will keep to "hand down" to your children when they grow up. It is so much fun to read to toddlers and then hear them read it back
to you when they become readers themselves. Had to add it to Grandma's book corner!

I teach young children and I really like "Hide and Squeak." It's very simple and easy to follow for even very young children, as the little mouse and his daddy play hide and seek. The illustrations are very cute and the story ends with a warm hug when the daddy "finds" the little mouse. Very sweet story.

Hide and Squeak is a charming book both for bedtime or story time. It's not too long and the illustrations are large and clear, making it perfect for even young story listeners. I loved that it featured the dad in a caretaker role instead of the more traditional look at moms giving baths and putting their babies to bed. With just the right amount of humor and the right amount of comfort, this is a perfect choice for just about any youngster's personal collection or any preschool or toddler story group. Recommended.

My just-2 year old loves this book. She likes the refrain, likes pointing out the baby and the father on each page, likes the fun action scenes, and LOVES talking about her daddy "watching" her sleeping, like the final page in the book. As an English teacher, I like the strong language.

Basically, the father chases the baby mouse, gives hugs and kisses, and tucks the mouse into bed. We have TONS of books and this is a constant favorite.
